Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, on Friday unveiled his new wife, Queen Morenike Naomi Oluwaseyi. The monarch, who made the announcement through his social media platforms, praised his new Olori for her beauty, uniqueness and royal qualities and most especially, the fear of God she has. He stated, “I waited patiently upon the Almighty the King of kings, he eventually did it in the midst of many trials. “Shilekunola, Moronke, Naomi; the greatest arsenal you can apply on this highly revered throne with many rules and regulations in the midst of undiluted tradition, heritage and culture is the “Fear Of God In You”, which is the beginning of your wisdom on this throne of Oduduwa.  “You are welcome home my beautiful and adorable queen.’’ Oba Ogunwusi was previously married to two women at separate times, the more recent of which was Queen Zaynab Otiti-Obanor.

Atiku gives Saraki, Tambuwal, Dankwambo new PDP appointment

Senate President Bukola Saraki has been appointed the Director General of Atiku Abubakar’s Presidential Campaign Council Also Aminu Tambuwal has been appointed as the Zonal Coordinator for NorthWest. 2019: ‘We Won’t Support Muhammadu Buhari’ – Ex-Niger Delta Militants

National Coalition of Niger Delta Ex-Agitators, (NCNDE-A), under the leadership of   Eshanekpe Israel, has said it would not support President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019. The group said the president has disappointed them and the entire Niger Delta. According to the group, the president has shown enough disdain for the youths and ex-militants under the aegis of the NCNDE-A, noting that the group worked tirelessly to install Buhari with the promise to better the lots of members of the group in patronage and develop the Niger Delta for growth and empowerment of the youths from the region. “Rather than reward hard work and loyalty to him by members and leaders of the NCNDE-A, President Buhari, engaged in selective patronage, along tribal lines,” he said. He added that the coalition is discussing with “a better and more reliable candidate for the 2019 presidential election,” reiterating that it is “fed up with a government that lacks vision and purposeful leadership

8'   The Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, whose tenure expired midnight on Monday, said earlier in the day that he would visit the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Tuesday (today) with his bedclothes and pillowcase. Fayose’s immunity ends along with his tenure and he has been invited to the headquarters of the EFCC where he will answer to allegations that he received about N1.3bn from the Office of the National Security Adviser through the then Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro Fayose said, “I will be there on Tuesday. I am not begging for any bail. It is up to them. If they want me, they should just give me a bed. I have done my pillowcase, I have my English and Yoruba bibles. I am prepared for them. Nobody should worry about me. Only cowards die many times before their deaths.” .

                                                                                                                                                                  The choice of a former governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi as the vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was generally described as a deft move by a cross-section of Nigerians. His emergence as the running mate to the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku didn’t come as a surprise as his name had prominently featured among those being considered for the position. Saturday Vanguard learned that Atiku met with Obi in his Asokoro residence after Jamaat prayers yesterday in Abuja. A statement by the Director General of Atiku Campaign Organisation, Otunba Gbenga Daniel said the former governor was mainly chosen because of his vast knowledge of global and local economics. Other reasons adduced were his youthfulness and experience in the management of people and resources.

“No Human Being Can Solve Nigeria’s Problem, Only God Can” – Pastor Adeboye Says

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has declared that no human being can solve the challenges facing Nigeria. Speaking during a Thanksgiving service at the RCCG Throne of Grace Parish in Ebute-Meta, Lagos, on Sunday, Adeboye said only God can resolve the crisis bedeviling the country. Adeboye said:- “At least our case has not become so bad that we now have to sleep in the graveyard. “No human can solve our challenges in Nigeria, we need divine intervention and If we truly humble ourselves, turn from our wicked ways and pray, God will answer our prayers. If we refuse to forsake our evil ways and just pray,God will not answer. “It is important that we seek God’s mercy because we manufacture most of our own problems if there is an armed robber, one parent gave birth to such a robber who failed in their responsibility. “We need God’s forgiveness and mercy in Nigeria for us to experience a glorious turnaround.”

Minimum wage: Nigerian Government, labour present different figures

Negotiations by Tripartite Committee on a new National Minimum Wage have run into a stalemate. This is following the Nigerian Government stance that it cannot afford more than N25,000 per month. Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, and Organised Private Sector, OPS, have already agreed on a N30,000 minimum wage per month. DAILY POST had reported that President of the NLC, Ayuba Wabba, in Abuja, yesterday, said that the Tripartite Committee had completed its assignment for onward submission to President Muhammadu Buhari. However, Vanguard reports that when the tripartite committee resumed sitting last Thursday, the Federal Government shocked other social partners with its presentation of N21,700. The Organized Labour had recently embarked on an industrial action over the Federal Government’s failure to present its figure at previous meeting. The suspension of the strike was sequel to government’s reconvening of the committee for last Thursday, October 4 and Friday
